I too often find myself moping around my house with nothing to occupy my time. I sit and watch Netflix for hours on end when really I could be having all sorts of fun. We just need to get creative with our time, because It's so easy to get caught up in the "I'm bored" excuse. We are young and we should make the most of our time! So instead of watching an entire season of Stranger Things in one sitting let's have some fun!
-Something that I recently started doing is bullet journaling. It's a super fun pass time and It's really easy too! A bullet journal is basically a dot-grid journal made to help you design, plan and create! You can buy them on Amazon for as cheap as $10! I love journaling and can become a great hobby. You can listen to music, drink some coffee and chill.
- Another fun idea is planning a game night with your friends. It's as easy as Popping some popcorn grabbing some friends and playing a few rounds of cards.
-We can also get outside! Take a walk, a hike, go for a swim or a bike ride. I love being outside! I will even take walks when It's 20 degrees outside because winter ain't stopping me!
-I've always loved taking photos. You could plan a photo shoot with your besties. Dress up a little and even if you just use your iPhone you can some great shots! Be creative, but when creativity fails Pinterest is a great backup for photo inspiration.
-Explore your hometown! I've lived in the same small town my entire life and I keep discovering new spots and fun activities to do. I just hop in my car, stop at Starbucks and drive around town. I explore neighborhoods, mountain roads, and little shops. It's a fun way to get out of the house.
- I love reading books and a fun activity is a trip to the library. I know, I know, sounds boring, but it's actually really fun. I quick trip to the library always turns into three hours of getting lost in a good book.
-I've never been good at cooking, but the other day I cooked my entire family dinner. I made homemade tomato soup and garlic bread and it actually turned out good. It was fun, but also challenging and honestly one of the most fulfilling things I've done in a long time. I was glad to see everyone happily eating their soup.
So when boredom strikes don't just mope around. Like Doctor Suess said. "“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go...” Let be a generation that tries new things, goes new places and shows this world what It's like to be happy!
